Vivaldi international cruise services ltd is proud to announce that on the 7th of April 2015 we received a certification awarded by Bureau Veritas Certification after a successful audit of our management systems following the standards: ISO 9001:2008(quality) for compliance with the requirements of the International Labour Organization's Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (MLC 2006) –certificate No No.PL10/JKL/20150407143519 MARITIME LABOUR CONVENTION (MLC) Certification of Crew Agencies, Private Recruitment, and Placement Services With the new Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), there are new requirements for yacht owners and the suppliers of crewing services. It is common today, that owners and captains outsource the manning of their yacht to dedicated crew agencies, but are you prepared for the changes? Who does this affect? Upon entry into force of the MLC, all crew agencies, private recruitment, and placement services must be operated under a system of licensing, certification, or some other form of regulation. The obligation to ensure compliance falls on the yacht owner and thereafter the captain. The actions to ensure conformity must be documented in the yacht’s management system and records. These actions will be verified on board by a flag-state inspector. How is compliance achieved? Through the development and implementation of a documented management system, the crew agency, private recruitment, or placement service shall be audited on an annual basis.
